Abstract

Masalah kesehatan remaja seperti obesitas, hipertensi, dan anemia semakin meningkat, namun sering tidak terdeteksi akibat minimnya pemantauan rutin antropometri dan tanda vital. Anggota Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) berperan strategis dalam deteksi dini di sekolah, tetapi keterampilan teknis mereka perlu ditingkatkan. Penelitian bertujuan mengevaluasi efektivitas pelatihan pengukuran antropometri dan tanda vital tubuh pada anggota PMR SMP. Desain penelitian pra eksperimen dengan one group pre–post test melalui intervensi berupa pelatihan teori dan praktik langsung. Pengetahuan diukur melalui pre-pos tes, keterampilan melalui observasi menggunakan lembar cek terstruktur. Analisis Wilcoxon menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan pengetahuan (p<0,05) yaitu dari rata-rata 7,39 menjadi 8,83. Keterampilan pasca pelatihan menunjukkan akurasi dan kepatuhan prosedur kategori baik. Pelatihan efektif meningkatkan kompetensi deteksi dini kesehatan, dan direkomendasikan untuk diterapkan secara rutin di sekolah.

Adolescent health problems such as obesity, hypertension, and anemia are increasing, but often go undetected due to a lack of routine anthropometric and vital sign monitoring. Youth Red Cross (YRC) members play a strategic role in early detection in schools, but their technical skills need to be improved. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of anthropometric and vital sign measurement training for YRC at Junior High School members. The study design used a pre-experimental study with a one-group pre-posttest through an intervention consisting of theoretical training and hands-on practice. Knowledge was measured through a pre-posttest, and skills through observation using a structured checklist. Wilcoxon analysis showed a significant increase in knowledge (p<0.05), from an average of 7.39 to 8.83. Post-training skills demonstrated good accuracy and procedural compliance. The training effectively improved competency in early health detection and is recommended for routine implementation in schools.
